Satkosia:
Forests, hills and rivers are all there, where else to go but beautiful Satkosia on Puja vacation! Satkosia Tiger Reserve (Satkosia Tiger Reserve) is spread over about 1000 square km in 4 districts of Odisha (Odisha), Cuttack, Boudh, Nayagarh and Angul. Courtesy of Odisha Eco-Tourism (Odisha Eco-Tourism) nature camps have been established in different regions. However, 'Tikarpara Nature Camp' adjacent to Lavangir forest has gained extra popularity due to its proximity to forests, hills and rivers. On both sides, Purgghat hills, Satkrosh or 22 kilometers long Mahanadi flows through the middle. Hence the name of this sanctuary is 'Satkosia'. It can be visited throughout the year but winter is the ideal time to visit Satkosia.
Satkosia Gorge Sanctuary was started in 1976. In 2007 it was included under Satkosia Tiger Reserve. Angul, Cuttack, Nayagarh and Boudh. Mahanadi flows through these four districts. This region is Satkosia. Five hundred and fifty square km of this region of about thousand square km is the main area (Core Area). And there are several nature camps spread over the whole tiger reserve. Elephants, Tigers, Sambars, Spotted Deer, Chaushinga, Barking Deer and leopards are their habitats in the forests of Satkosia.
How to go?
*Train: Cuttack or Angul by train from Howrah. Then from Cuttack by car to Tikarpara (200 km approx) and from Angul by car 60 km.
*Car: By car from Kolkata take NH16 to Balasore, Bhadrak 13km before Cuttack to Mangalu Chowk and take NH55 to Angul. If you ask any local there, you will get instructions to go to Tikarpara. Apart from this, there are boards on the side of the road. The distance from Kolkata to Tikarpara is about 600 km. 3-hour drive from Bhubaneswar.
Where will you stay?
Apart from this, there are cottages and tents on the slopes of the hill. The dining room on the sand is beautifully decorated.
*In Chotkei Nature Camp, the cost of 2 persons per day is Rs. 2500. Mahanadi is only 800 meters away from the resort.
*'Hill View Resort' is located in Kamaldiha. Being new, the resort has a total of ten rooms.
Where to go?
Dwonzhora Waterfalls: This beautiful waterfall has to be reached by trekking about 800 meters. There is a dam, the natural beauty of which is very beautiful.
Can go boating in Mahanadi. An hour of boating costs around 700/-. Must be done by speed boat. A lot of crocodiles, turtles, colorful birds can be seen on the route. Apart from this, there are several places to roam. Along with this, there is a 100 percent opportunity to enjoy the nature of Mankhul.
