Why are T-shirts so important today?
This post lists the different varieties in styles that the humble t-shirts are available.
Do you know that once upon a time, T-shirt (aka the ‘Tee’) was just an undergarment?
During the 1st World War, the European Soldiers and later the American Soldiers wore t-shirts as comfortable lightweight undergarments under their uniforms.
Then the Hollywood movies brought the humble t-shirt out and made it famous as trendy outerwear. Think Marlon Brando in his iconic white Tshirt in the movie “A Streetcar Named Desire” – so attractive in a simple T-shirt
Famous fashion designer Christain Dior even recruited t-shirts to haute couture stardom. In 1962, he made a t-shirt in velvet and brought it to the limelight as a trendy piece of clothing.
Now T-shirt occupies a pride of place in most anybody’s wardrobe. Every year, billions of t-shirts are sold in shops all over te world.
And you are spoilt for choices as to which to buy, which to wear. The simple T-shirt is simple no more. It comes in many variations and many styles. Wear it as a Standalone outfit or under your jacket or jumper – it is an integral part of your wardrobe.
Different types of T-shirts :

Longsleeve Crew neck T-shirts
any of various sleeves that reach to a little above the elbow
or to a little below the elbow.
2. Long sleeve Crew neck T-shirts
A crew neck
(crewneck or crew-neck) is a type of shirt or sweater that has a round
neckline and no collar, often worn with other layers. The name dates back to
1939 and was named after a type of sweater worn by rowers.
3. Polo t-shirt
The meaning of POLO SHIRT is a close-fitting
pullover often knit shirt with short or long sleeves and turnover collar or
banded neck.
A V-neck or a V-neck sweater is a sweater with a
neck that is in the shape of the letter V. Collins COBUILD Advanced Learner's

long sleeve

A man's or woman's
often sleeveless or short-sleeved garment that is cut short to show the midriff.
A yoke is a
shaped pattern piece that forms part of a garment, usually fitting around the
neck and shoulders or around the hips to provide support for looser parts of
the garment, such as a gathered skirt or the body of a shirt.

2. A woman's
tight-fitting casual shirt that typically has very short sleeves and flares
outward slightly at the hips
A shirt style
featuring a crew collar, white body, and three-quarter-length raglan sleeves in
a contrasting color.
A high, close-fitting collar, often rolled or turned down,
appearing especially on pullover sweaters. a sweater with such a collar.
11. PocketT-shirt
Modern pocket t
shirts typically have rounded or square pockets. The pocket is usually
positioned on the left side of the chest, but there are shirts that feature the
pocket on the right as well.
A scoop neckline
is a rounded neckline on a garment which is conspicuously lower in the
front than in the back. Typically, this style of neckline is associated with
skin-baring clothing, including undergarments and activewear.
A very short
sleeve that hangs over the shoulder but does not extend beyond the armhole on
the underside, often used for ladies' fashion tees such as Anvil style or
bella style.
A Henley shirt
is a collarless pullover shirt, characterized by a round neckline and a
placket about 3 to 5 inches (8 to 13 cm) long and usually having 2–5 buttons.
It essentially is a collarless polo shirt.
15. Ringer T – shirt
A T-shirt with a
band of ribbed fabric in a contrasting color on the collar and sleeves If
you like to keep it casual, remember: a ringer-T-shirt or polo is just as
comfortable as that old T-shirt, and infinitely more stylish.
